Hi, I’m Shawn Dunning, on behalf of Adventure Associates and AAI Training, welcome to our series on conflict resolution and cooperative problem solving.

In 25 years of working to help others learn to get along effectively, we’ve learned a few very important factors that leaders and teams use to achieve success. And we’d like to share some of those insights with you.

Conflict is one of those topics that people love to talk about, but when it comes to actually changing our ways, things are easier said than done.

So rather than give you some comprehensive overview of conflict resolution theory, we’d like to offer some very basic but nuanced techniques and tools that our clients tell us, time and time again, work for them. Now in order for this to work, it’s important that you actually learn something. And the best way to learn is really through experience. With our clients, we often use experiential simulations where you can discover and practice new skills.

We can’t really do that here, but hopefully, what we can do is to inspire you to try some things differently in you own life. And from these new attempts, perhaps you will learn what works for you. As we delve into these videos, prepare to challenge your assumptions, and open your mind to new ways of interacting with others. Don’t be afraid to take a few risks.
